Health Education Exam is designed to judge the professional knowledge of prospective teachers in Health Education. This assessment is administered under the ambit of New York State Education Board. Eligibility for NYSTCE Health Education Exam
New York State Education Board gives dual level certification to the candidates initial and professional. Both these certifications have distinct eligibility criteria. For initial certification, candidate should be a baccalaureate from state or national university. Candidate should have passing marks in Liberals Arts and Science Exam and Teaching Skills Assessment Exam. For professional certification, candidate should have master degree in the field with three years of teaching experience. Candidate should also have passing marks in Speech and language disability test.
Format of NYSTCE Health Education Exam
NYSTCE Health Education Exam includes 90 multiple choice questions and one subjective query. These questions are made up of 300 marks, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. Candidate needs to complete these questions in four hours duration. Hence candidate should chalk out stiff time management plan to attempt all questions. If the candidate falls short of the marks in the exam then he is liable to appear again for the assessment after the period of 30 days.
