MTTC Library Media Test Study Guide

MTTC Library Media Test is conducted by Michigan Department of Education to check competencies of aspiring educators in the field. Candidate clearing this exam gets the certification from the education board to practice as a library media specialist in the field. Score of MTTC Library Media Test is valid for the period of five years hence candidate should study well to score good marks in the first attempt itself.

Eligibility for MTTC Library Media Test

To appear for Michigan Test for Teacher Certification Library Media Test, candidate should meet the following requirements of Michigan Education Board:-

• Applicant should be a Baccalaureate from state or national university.
• Applicant should be specialized in the subject from state approved college.
• Applicant should have three years of teaching experience(required only for out of state candidate)
• Applicant should be atleast of 21 years of age at the time of filing the application.

If the candidate lacks the experience then candidate is liable to hold non renewable certification in Michigan State till the time the eligibility criteria are not met. Candidate should get passing marks in the exam to get liable for teaching certification.

Format of MTTC Library Media Test

MTTC Library Media Test includes multiple choice questions. Scoring of MTTC Library Media Test is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. If candidate falls short of the marks then candidate can reappear for the exam in the next schedule. However candidate needs to complete his registration process for the exam before the commencement of next schedule. Candidate also needs to prove his proficiency in generalized subject also by appearing for MTTC Basic Skills Exam. There are three sections in MTTC Basic Skills Exam reading, writing and mathematics. Total duration for completing the exam is 270 minutes.
