MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test is administered by Michigan Department of Education to grant certification to eligible candidates. After getting this certification, candidate gets the permission to teach in Michigan State as a Family and Consumer Science Educator. Score of Michigan Tests for Teacher Certification is valid for the period of 5 years. MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test is available in two formats online and offline. Eligibility for MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test
To appear for MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test, applicant needs to meet all the eligibility conditions issued by the board:-
- Applicant should hold a bachelor degree from state/national university
- Applicant should have mastery in the subject recognized by state approved college
- Applicant should have three years of teaching experience( only for out of state applicants)
- Family and self life handling changes and its effects on family and individual life, growth, development, adulthood etc.
- Development in humans and parenting a child communication, rewards, demands of a child etc.
- Family health and development personal fitness, nutrition, personal rights and responsibilities etc.
- Relationship between community, family and career management of family, career orientation of an individual, role and responsibility of individual for its family etc.
- Managing resources consumerism, managing resources in family etc.
Candidate should be atleast 21 years of age at the time of registration. If any applicant lacks experience then candidate can get the non renewable certification from the Education Board. Candidate should get passing marks in MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test to get certification from Michigan Department of Education.
Format of MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test
MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test includes multiple choice questions. Scoring of MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. If the candidate falls short of the marks, then candidate is liable to appear again in the exam in the next schedule. The total duration for completing the exam is 270 minutes. Candidate has to clear MTTC Basic Skills Test along with the MTTC Family and Consumer Science Test. There are three sections in MTTC Basic Skills Exam- reading, writing, mathematics. There are 85 multiple choice questions in reading and mathematics sections, and one subjective question in writing section.
