Candidates aspiring to teach business education subject in Michigan State are required to pass Michigan Test for Teacher Certification. Candidate needs to clear MTTC Business Education Exam to get certification from the education board. Candidate looking to achieve elementary or secondary certification needs to appear for MTTC Basic Skills Exam also. Eligibility for MTTC Business Education Exam
To appear for MTTC Business Education Exam, candidate needs to meet following criteria:-
- Candidate should have bachelor degree from state approved college/national university
- Candidate should have specialization in the field/subject
- Candidate should be atleast 21 years of age.
- Candidate should have 3 years of valid teaching experience (only for out of state candidate)
Michigan Department of Education grants non renewable certification to out of state candidates who lacks practical exposure. After the expiration of this certificate, candidate needs to appear in the appropriate subject testing.
Format of MTTC Business Education Exam
The exam consists of questions from the following topics. Below are the mentioned weightings given to them in MTTC Business Education Exam:-

- Finance and Economics macroeconomics, microeconomics, global economy etc. 15% Accounting accounts and accounting cycle - 16%

- Employment opportunities procedure and techniques of employment - 15%
Scoring of MTTC Business Education Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. Total duration for completing the exam is 270 minutes. MTTC Basic Skills Exam is conducted to check the candidates competencies in reading, writing and mathematics. There are 85 objective questions and one subjective question in MTTC Basic Skills Exam.
