MTTC Environmental Studies Test Study Guide

MTTC Environmental Test is administered by Michigan Department of Education to grant certification to eligible candidates. After getting this certification candidate gets the credentials from the board to teach as an Environmental Teacher in the state. For getting elementary and secondary certification candidate needs to appear for an additional assessment to prove his competency in basic educators knowledge.

MTTC Environmental Test is available in two formats online and offline format. Scores of MTTC Environmental Test is valid for the period of five years.

Eligibility for MTTC Environmental Test

To appear for MTTC Environmental Test, applicant should meet following sets of requirements issued by Michigan Department of Education:-

• Applicant should hold a bachelor degree from state/national university
• Applicant should have specialization in the subject from state approved college
• Applicants minimum age should be atleast 21 years.

Out of state candidate requires three year of teaching experience to practice in Michigan State. If the candidate lacks experience then candidate is liable to get non renewable certification from the board. Candidate needs to get passing marks in MTTC Environmental Test to get eligible for the certification.

Format of MTTC Environmental Test

MTTC Environmental Test includes multiple choice questions. Scoring of MTTC Environmental Test is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification. If the candidate falls short of the passing marks, then the candidate is liable to appear again in the exam in the very next schedule.

MTTC Basic Skills Exam is another exam which is complemented with MTTC Environmental Test. This test includes 85 multiple choice questions and one subjective question. There are three sections in MTTC Basic Skills Exam, which are reading, writing and mathematics. Total duration for completing the exam is 270 minutes.
