To appear for TExES School Librarian Exam, candidate should prove his/her competencies to the board. To prove this, candidate should fulfill eligibility conditions listed by the board. Candidate should be a certificate degree holder. He should also possess AGCA certificate to be verified and further indicated by the SBEC board.
Format of TExES School Librarian Exam
TExES board conducts this exam with the intension of finding out the real talent and excellence amongst many and gives them the credentials. This certification gives the license to the candidate to teach in the schools of Texas. For getting this certification, candidate has to clear this exam. Hence candidate should be well clear of the format and syllabus of the exam. Topics covered in the exam are teaching processes in the environment of the library, leading and managing the various community and school programs, connection between library and science & technology, maintaining librarianship etc. These topics are vitally covered by the exam. Hence the candidate should study them thoroughly. This exam includes multiple choice questions which are 90 in number. Out of these 90 questions, 80 are scored and 10 are unscored. There is no negative marking for the incorrect answer. Hence candidate should attempt all the questions. The entire range of the candidates score is converted on the scale of 300, out of which is 240 is the minimum marks.
