GACE School Counseling Exam Study Guide


School counselor is the person who takes care of the students psyche at early, elementary and middle level. The person should be the personality of care and extreme patience. Educator aspiring for becoming school counselor needs to pass Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators. Georgia Professional Standards Commission conducts examination to grant certification to the Educators. GACE School Counseling Exam is the test which candidate needs to pass to get credentials from the board. Candidate should sign the answer sheet and application form duly as without which candidates score will be declared as null and void.

Eligibility for GACE School Counseling Exam


To appear for GACE School Counseling Exam, candidate needs to meet all the conditions of the GPSC Board prescribed to get the certification. For getting the renewable certification candidate should have bachelor degree. In addition to it, candidate should have certification from state approved college. If the candidate is not having certification however he is enrolled in any certification program run by state college then also candidate can apply for non renewable certification.

Format of GACE School Counseling Exam


GACE School Counseling Exam includes two sub tests. Each sub test includes objective and subjective questions. Candidate should practice nicely for the GACE School Counseling Exam to get good marks in the exam.

Sub test I

  • Development and learning of individual 22 objective questions and 1 subjective questions
  • Career planning 16 objective questions
  • Counseling session 22 objective questions and 1 subjective question
