GACE Reading Exam Study Guide
As writing is important for the students, reading is also equally important. Educator teaching reading styles to his students should be competent and efficient for the field. Reading of literary texts, lingual text, instructional texts is a difficult texts hence educator should teach these points effectively and deeply.
To check these competencies of the educator, GPSC (Georgia Professional Standards Commission) conducts examination. Candidate needs to pass GACE Reading Exam to get the certification from the GPSC board. After getting this certification, candidate can practice in Georgia State as a reading Educator. Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators is designed in the most perfect way to check the candidates knowledge in the subject.
Candidate can choose his medium of test according to his wish. There are two mediums of examination for the candidate that is:-
- Computer based
- Paper based
Candidate can also file the application through any mode out of internet, mail or telephone. However candidate should not forget to sign the application form and even the answer sheet. Without the signature of the candidate, scores of the candidate will be declared null and void.
Eligibility for GACE Reading Exam
To appear for GACE Reading Exam, candidate should meet all the eligibility criteria listed by the board. For getting renewable certification candidate should have bachelor degree and certification from state approved college. If the candidate is enrolled in any certification program run by state approved college then also he can apply for the certification. However this type of certification is non renewable which is liable to expire after certain period of time.
Format of GACE Reading Exam
GACE Reading Exam includes two sub tests. Each sub test includes subjective and objective questions. Each sub test is inclusive of 60 objective and 2 subjective questions.
Sub test I
- Assessment of reading 18 objective questions and 1 subjective question
- Basics of reading and its development - 24 objective questions
- Development of reading 18 objective questions and 1 subjective question
Sub test II
- Comprehension 18 objective questions and 1 subjective question
- Literature and its reading - 18 objective questions
- Developing curriculum for reading - 24 objective questions and 1 subjective question
Scoring of GACE Reading Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks required to get the certification.
