Paraprofessional exam is a general aptitude exam that offers certification to Paraprofessionals. It measures skills and knowledge in reading, writing, mathematics and instructional assessment. Educator teaching this stream should be capable and have efficient knowledge to teach students of all age. Georgia Professional Standard Commission is the board which conducts examination to grant certification to the eligible educators. Candidate getting this certification gets the permission to teach in Georgia State.

Eligibility for GACE Paraprofessional Exam
To appear for GACE Paraprofessional Exam, candidate should meet all the eligibility conditions issued by the GPSC Board for the paraprofessional educator.
For renewable certification- candidate should have bachelor degree and certification from the state approved college
For non renewable certification- candidate should have bachelor degree and should be enrolled in certification program run by state approved college.
Syllabus of GACE Paraprofessional Exam

- Reading vocabulary, analyzing different types of texts, interpreting graphical information
- Writing speech, principles of good writing, capitalization, punctuation etc.
- Mathematics - algebra, geometry, analysis of data
- Instructional assessment application of reading, writing and mathematical skills.
Format of GACE Paraprofessional Exam
GACE Paraprofessional Exam includes single test. This test includes 100 objective questions.
- Reading 25 objective questions
- Writing 25 objective questions
- Mathematics 25 objective questions
- Instructional assessment 25 objective questions
Scoring of GACE Paraprofessional Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks. If the candidate falls short of the marks in the exam, then he is liable to appear again in the exam after the period of 30 days.
