Eligibility for GACE Geography Exam


To appear for GACE Geography Exam, candidate needs to meet all the guidelines issued by the GPSC board. Candidate can apply for the renewable certification if the candidate holds the bachelor degree and certification from the state approved college. If the candidate is not having any certification from the state approved college then he can apply for the non renewable certification.

  • Geographical distinction between Asia and Africa
  • Physical system of South Asia and other regions of Asia
  • Europe and Soviet States

Above mentioned topics are very important from examination point of view. Hence candidate should study them nicely to get good marks in the exam. If the candidate falls short of the marks in the GACE Geography Exam, candidate is liable to appear again for the same after the period of 30 days.

Format of GACE Geography Exam


Sub test I

  • Geographic terminologies- 16 objective questions
  • Sub Saharan Africa and Asia- 22 objective questions and one subjective question
  • East Asia and Oceania- 22 objective questions and one subjective question

Sub test II

  • United States and Canada- 20 objective questions.
  • Latin America- 20 objective and one subjective question
  • Europe, Russia and Soviet union- 20 objective and one subjective question

Scoring of GACE Geography Exam is done on the scale of 300, out of which 220 are the minimum marks. 80% weightage is given to objective questions and 20% to the subjective questions.
