Indiana CORE P-12 Education Exam Study Guide
The Indiana P-12 Education Assessments tests individuals, knowledge, and capability to teach students. The examination evaluates a candidate's abilities to teach as a professional teacher. The test therefore prepares and equips a teacher with the necessary skills to execute their duties.
The Indiana Department of Education is mandated to assess and issue a license to those who wish to be registered as teachers in the state.
Indiana CORE P-12 Education Exam Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for registration as a P-12 Educator, one is required to be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university and the degree should correspond with the subject area one wishes to teach. Provide your child suicide prevention certificate and a valid CPR card.
Indiana Core P-12 test format
- The Indiana Core Academic Skills Assessment (CASA) is the basic skill test examination for educators. Some of the topics covered by this test include math, writing and reading. The mathematics section consists of 40 multiple choice questions while the writing ding section consists of 42 multiple choice questions and the reading sections 40 questions.
- The Pedagogical or Development Exam normally corresponds with the grade level one has been trained to teach. This exam covers classroom management, Student Development Diversity, Methodology, earning Process, Learning Environment, in structural Planning among other topics.
- The Indiana CORE content exam. This exam can be taken after the completion of the two above exams. To register for this examination, you will be required to register and open an account with the Licensing Verification and Information System.
Indiana Core p-12 test format
.The test is available all year round by appointment and offered based on first come first served at all the Indiana educator preparation programs and the Ivy Tech campuses. The CORE Assessment test for P-12 educators has 100 multiple choice questions that need to be done within 2 hours done on their available test centers listed here. The first 15 minutes allows a candidate to view the CBT tutorial and a nondisclosure agreement. The remaining one hour forty-five minutes are for completing the test. Test results are provided immediately after the test. The scores are scaled in a range from 100-300 and the minimum passing score is 220. The results also reflect on a candidate's account for 10 days after the completion of the test. These results are also relayed to the Indiana Department of Education as well as the educator preparation program(s) that the candidate selected during the test registration. The registration fee is $114 and should be paid using a credit card. Cards accepted are VISA and MasterCard
