The state of Texas has in recent years created the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences or AAFCS tests. They have been growing in popularity and are not only available in this state but also nationwide. The main goal of the exam is to provide guidance to those families and individuals who want to make informed and good decisions in their lifestyle. Format of AAFCS Human Development and Family Studies Exam


The AAFCS focuses on multiple-choice questions with four given answers for the teachers to choose from. Every section has 100 to 150 questions with only one right answer. The test is administered over the computer and filling out takes exactly 3 hours and 15 minutes. First comes the 15 min introduction video to offer the teachers insight into the needed how-to. After that, teachers have up to 3 hours for filling out their assessments. After completing the examination and AAFCS certification, the teacher can teach up to 21 courses.

One can easily register online to take the AAFCS. The exam can be taken throughout the year, after working out an appointment. It is taken in CAT sites all around Texas. The results are available to teachers as early as seven days after testing at 10.00 PM CST on the online score report. Every teacher needs to pay a small fee for taking this certification test and to pass it, have a score above 240.
