Candidate having this certification can practice as General knowledge educator in the Florida state. FTCE General Knowledge Exam is the eligibility exam in which candidate has to prove his competencies.
Florida Department of Education offers two kind of certification to the candidates. Professional and temporary certifications are granted by the education department to the educator. Both certifications have different requirements and eligibility conditions. Candidate needs to comply with these requirements in order to appear in FTCE General Knowledge.
Eligibility for FTCE General Knowledge Exam
To appear for FTCE General Knowledge, candidate needs to fulfill all the eligibility conditions listed by the board. After complying with these requirements candidate can apply for the certification. For professional certification, candidate needs to hold bachelor degree with specialization in the requisite field. This certification is valid for the period of five academic years only. After this period candidate has to apply for the renewal of the certificate.
For temporary certification, candidate needs to hold the bachelor degree with 2.5 GPA in the subject. This certification is valid for three academic years only. After this period candidate cannot apply for the renewable. He has to apply for the professional certification once the temporary certification validity gets over.
For both the certification candidate needs to submit finger prints report to the board. Certification will be granted after the processing of these reports only.
Format of FTCE General Knowledge Exam
FTCE General Knowledge Exam is the test of vitality of the knowledge available and derived from this world. Candidate has to cover various headings and topics to score good in FTCE General Knowledge Exam. Syllabus of FTCE General Knowledge Exam is:-
- English conceptual skills, vocabulary, sentence construction, grammar, punctuation
- Mathematics- number system, measurement, geometry, algebra, probability
- Reading- literal and analytical composition
FTCE General Knowledge Exam is composed of four tests:-
- Language skills 40 questions in 40 minutes
- Mathematics- 45 questions in 100 minutes
- Reading- 40 questions in 40 minutes
- Essay writing - 1 essay in 50 minutes
Candidate should practice well for the exam before going for the actual one. Speed is the main core in the entire exam. Hence candidate should work on the speed to crack FTCE General Knowledge Exam in the first attempt.
