FTCE Biology 6-12 Exam Study Guide

Florida Department of Education conducts FTCE Biology Exam to grant certification to the eligible candidates. Applicants who pass FTCE Biology Exam get the certification from the board. Candidate must prepare well for FTCE Biology Exam to earn the certification from the board. Candidate can opt either for temporary certification or for professional certification. Both these certification have time limits. Professional certification is valid for five academic years and temporary certification is non renewable and valid for the period of three academic years. Both these certification require distinct eligibility criteria to be fulfilled.
Eligibility for FTCE Biology Exam
To appear for FTCE Biology Exam candidate needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria listed by board. As stated above, both the certification requires different set of conditions to be fulfilled. To get Professional certificate, candidate should have specialization in the subject with bachelor degree as a mandatory educational qualification. This professional certificate is liable to get expired after five academic years. After this period candidate is required to apply for the recertification. On the other side if the candidate is applying for the temporary certification candidate needs to have GPA of 2.5 score in addition with the bachelor degree. Candidate should keep in mind that it is one time certification with no renew ability. Candidate has to submit detailed finger prints report to the FLDOE board before appearing for the exam.
Format of FTCE Biology Exam
FTCE Biology Exam includes topic like combination of science, technology and society, chemical reactions in living beings, cell physiology and structure, genetics and heredity, prokaryotic and eukaryotic organisms and functioning, structural and functionality in animals and human beings, ecology and evolution etc. These topics are very important from examination point of view. FTCE Biology Exam consists of 120 multiple choice questions. These questions are of following format:-
- Command system- Candidate has to select the correct answer possible.
- Situation analysis- Candidate will be given a scenario and has to answer accordingly
- Completing the sentence- Candidate has to complete the incomplete sentence
