Nursing-OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse Exam Study Guide
The OCN Examination is used to test the knowledge of the nurse to practice the competently at the basic level and within the specialty of adult oncology nursing. This examination certifies the candidate knowledge in the cancer nursing. The OCN certification is non transferable, revocable and limited license to use the certification designation and is valid only up to the validation period.
Eligibility for OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse Exam
To be eligible for appearing for the examination of OCN the candidates
- Must have a current, active and unrestricted registered nurse license
- Must have a minimum of 12 month experience as a registered nurse in the past three years
- Must have a minimum of 1000 hours of adult oncology nursing practice within the last 30 months
- Must have completed 10 contact hours of accredited continuing education in oncology nursing or an academic elective in oncology within the past three years.
Format for OCN - Oncology Certified Nurse Exam
The OCN examination lasts for three hours and consist of 165 multiple choice questions. The examination covers a total of eight subject areas over which the candidates skills and knowledge are evaluated.
