The CSAT is administered in paper-and-pencil format. The following sub tests are included in CAST battery:
Graphic Arithmetic
This test measures a candidates ability of solving arithmetic problems. It consists 2 drawings followed by 16 multiple-choice questions. The time alloted is 30-minutes.
Mechanical Concepts
This test measures candidate's ability to understand mechanical concepts. It consists of 44 multiple-choice questions. This test has a time limit of 20-minute.
Reading for Comprehension
This test measures a candidate's ability to read and understand data. It consists of 4 reading passages, followed by multiple-choice questions about the passage. There are 32 questions in this section which the candidate needs to complete in 30-minutes.
Mathematical Usage
This test measures a candidate's ability of solving basic mathematical problems from information provided. It consists of 18 multiple-choice questions and has a 7-minute time limit.
