Before appearing for the NMTA Test the candidate has to satisfy a few eligibility criteria:
He must have a bachelors degreeHe must have completed specified credit points that include 12 semester hours in English, history or science and six semester hours in math, economics, government or fine arts.
Coursework also requires you to fulfill mandatory student teaching requirements that include 24 to 36 semester hours in any one teaching area from among math, social studies, reading and language arts and six hours for those who have entered a college or university.

The Massachusetts test for educator licensure is a criterion referenced test that assesses the candidates knowledge and skills in particular areas. Each MTEL test has a different scoring standard for passing the exam. The candidate can take this test as many times as he wants and the scores never expire if once the examination is passed. The Georgia Assessment for Certification of Educators(GACE) Examination:
