Key English Test (KET)

Preliminary English Test (PET)
The Cambridge ESOL level 2 exam tests language ability at lower-intermediate level. It covers all four language skills reading, writing, listening and speaking. PET reflects the use of language in real life and is accepted by many employers as proof of ability to use English in clerical, secretarial or managerial jobs.
First Certificate in English (FCE)
At Cambridge ESOL level 3 FCE is at the upper-intermediate or 'independent user' level.. FCE certificate is internationally recognized by employers, universities and government departments as a qualification in upper-intermediate English.
Certificate of Advanced English (CAE)
A Cambridge level 4 exam offers a lower-advanced language qualification for those who need to use English in their jobs. It is mostly taken by university students and young professionals. Many universities recognize CAE as an English language entry requirement
Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE)
CPE a top grade of this ESOL exam certifies that the candidate has near native speaker ability. As such it fulfils entry requirements in English language by British universities and many universities in other English speaking countries and by other professional bodies worldwide.

The Cambridge ESOL exam is a part of largest assessment center in Europe, the Cambridge Assessment. It is administered by a non-teaching department of the Cambridge University and is designed to measure English proficiency skills of English language learners and people who are not natural natives of English language (ESL). Candidates can only take the Cambridge ESOL exam from authorized centers.
People of any age, creed, race or location can take the Cambridge ESOL exam. There are no related restrictions to the exam.
Some exams may have more than one session in the same month, candidates are not required to attend more than one session Components of the exam should be completed on the specified date. One can enter for different exams at the same session and long as proper arrangements are made at the centre. Although no age limit applies the KET, YEL for Schools, PET and SFL are designed for a particular age group. A candidate who is working can take each module of the ESOL exam on separate occasions e.g. Reading, Speaking, Listening and Writing. Breaching any of the entry regulation will cancel the entry and fees will not be refunded.
